Grab your rickshaws. This week, we are going to India. Well, Indian restaurants. This week, I enjoyed trying two popular Indian restaurants in Kennesaw, Taj Mahal Grill and Saffron Cuisine. Both places were delicious. Let’s start with the Taj Mahal Grill; I came across this restaurant because it is located next to my gym. Once I got a whiff, I knew I had to try it out. I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner, Mohammed Ruif, who told me the most popular dishes guests tend to order. Below are some of the most popular dishes ordered on a Tuesday night

I had the pleasure of trying the Butter Chicken, Lamb Komba, Garlic Naan, and Mango Lassi. When it comes to portion sizes both meals were enough to share. In total I spent $54.60.

The second restaurant Saffron Cuisine is more a a local favorite on the night I visited it was not as busy as the Taj Mahal but I didn’t let that discourage me from trying it out. For a Thursday night these were the most popular dishes.

For my dinner I had the Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan, Lamb Biryani, and a Mango Lassi for a total of $41.12

Regarding the most popular dishes, Butter Chicken was the most popular entree in both restaurants, while Garlic Naan was the most popular type of bread. Dishes involving chicken are also popular in both restaurants.
This battle was close, and both restaurants were delicious and had a lot of flavor. Taj Mahal Grill was just a hair better, so I am crowning them this week’s winner. Give both of these places a try, and let me know what you think.
